Don’t Forget Your River Stones – Part 2
“God is more glorified by living sacrifices than by
prematurely dead saints.” – TD Jakes
“If you continue in my word, then you are my disciples indeed;
And you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.”
- John 8:31-32
And you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.”
- John 8:31-32
We were created to live forever. Even though our bodies age and eventually
die, we still have the original design God gave us for surviving eternity. Our body knows many ways to protect
itself. If we cut ourselves, the blood
coagulates and forms a natural bandage.
If we starve ourselves, our metabolism slows down to preserve fuel for
future use.
When metabolism slows down, dieters begin to complain and
say, “I just don’t understand, I’m hardly eating anything at all and I can’t
lose weight.” But the truth is, God didn’t
intend for you to starve. Your
metabolism will remain more active and burn more calories if it is busy
digesting five to six small meals instead of one meager meal each day.
Your body has to be recalibrated once you lose the weight. It must accept this new and right you. That will take a little time, so you must
know that your body will try to fight the new rules for awhile, because it is
trying to protect you.
We need to repent because we have abused our bodies through
excess and inactivity. We have literally
confused my bodies. We need to reprogram
it before it breaks down from too much weight.
Our poor bodies have stretched skin, and is building drawers to try to
find a place to dump all the junk we’re putting into it. Our bodies are victims of food abuse!
You’ve heard the phrase, “What you don’t know can’t hurt
you,” but that’s not the truth. What you
don’t know can kill you! When you eat
healthy it gives your body an opportunity for restoration and healing before it
gives up in exasperation and dies!
What Is Destroying Your Health?
If we believe it doesn’t matter what we eat, or belief
allows us to eat the wrong food. But if
we are convinced that eating fatty-foods is dangerous to our health, we are
empowered to resist the foods that bring us harm, and we willingly choose the
foods that b ring us health and abundant energy.
A lie has no power over us - - unless we believe it. Unfortunately, truth has the same
restrictions. Jesus said we would know the truth and it would set us free
(John 8:32). The original Greek word to “know”
is ginosko and is defined in Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible,
#1097, as “be aware (of), feel, (have) know(-ledge), perceive, be resolved, can
speak, be sure, understand.”
Do you know the truth about God’s desire to deliver you from
all things that tries to control you?
Do you know the truth about the food you eat?
Do you know whether the meat is lean and full of nutrients
or full of fat, lacking the vitamins you need?
Do you believe it doesn’t matter what you eat? Will you continue to eat sugar and fat-filled
foods that lead to death instead of life?
It was true that God wanted to save Israel from Goliath, but
the Israelites believed the giant was more powerful than their God. The remained in fear until David exercised
his conviction of the truth. And, when
he did, they were set free.
David carried five smooth stones to confront Goliath. Next time we will talk about five more “smooth
stones” to add to our arsenal along with our original D-R-E-A-M.
To be continued…
Until tomorrow, be blessed!
Remember to DREAM!
